Billy is a short-lived ABC network sitcom and spin-off of "Head of the Class" starring Billy Connolly in the lead role.
The show premiered on January 31, 1992 and aired as part of ABC's "TGIF" line-up, but after two months, it was moved to Saturday nights where it would switch timeslots various times, but it didn't help the show produce better ratings.
On July 4, 1992, "Billy" was cancelled after only 13 episodes.
Synopsis[]
The spin-off followed Billy MacGregor as he moved to Berkeley, California where he marries a woman named Mary Springer, a single mom with three children (14-year-old David, 10-year-old Laura and 5-year-old Annie) in order for him to get his green card & not get deported.
The series followed Billy's misadventures as he adjusts to living in California while trying to stay one step ahead of immigration officials looking to prove that his marriage is a sham.
