American Housewife is an American television sitcom that aired on ABC since October 11, 2016. It follows a confident wife and mother as she raises her flawed family in a wealthy town filled with "perfect" mommies and kids.

The show was renewed in May 2020 for a fifth season.

About the show

American Housewife follows the daily life of Katie Otto, a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three, raising her improper family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, filled with "perfect" mommies and their "perfect" offspring. Katie's perfectly imperfect world is upended when her neighbor's decision to move notches her up from her ideal social standing and sets her on a path to ensure that doesn't happen, regardless of the consequences.

Katie's household is completed with her level-headed husband Greg, a university professor, and her three children: Taylor, the oldest, is their athletic, headstrong, albeit somewhat dimwitted daughter who tries her best to fit in with the rest of the Westport crowd; Oliver, the middle child, takes on the role of the clever, ambitious, and snarky child; and then there is Anna-Kat, the youngest. Despite being obsessive-compulsive, the sweet girl is Katie's blatant favorite.

In order to get through her daily struggles, Katie relies on the council and support of her two best friends, Doris, whose strict parenting style stands in stark contrast with Katie's, and Angela, who practices a more calm parenting style.
